Night Walk

Made for the Ground type contest~ in #WeLovePokemon~

Wrote a bit with the picture~

"It was a beautiful night to be hunted." Thought the weary cubone as he quickly trudged across the sandy domes in the full moon's light, heading to his burrow. "Why am I even doing this?" he thought, as he had never risked his life in such a manner before. He allowed himself a quick glance down to the small blue wooper he was carrying in his arms. It was badly hurt. One of its antennas had been bitten clean off and it was covered head to tail in scraps and bruises. Around its neck was a tattered yellow bandanna.
"tch, it doesn't look good. no no no.", and he picked up the pace once more. He thought he heard a screech against the wind, but he decided not to stop and look. He knew stopping made no difference. If that noise was what he thought, then he was dead meat anyways.
A moment later he was out of the moons glare and in his burrow. With a huff, he placed the young wooper on his cot and began to treat what wounds he could. Carefully wrapping the nub that once was a purple antenna. He then rummaged around his pantry until he had gathered what berries he had left. He nibbled at a rather old, almost stale oran berry, he could feel it restoring his tired muscles. Then he took another and crushed it into a fine mush. Slowly he pried open the amphibian's mouth and then poured the liquid berry mix carefully down the woopers throat.
After he was done,he cleaned up the mess and pulled a stool over next to the cot where the wooper laid. For a while he watch the slow rising and falling the young woopers chest. In the chair, he fell asleep.
